How a Cash Discount Program works
A Cash Discount Program works by rewarding customers who pay with cash at the time of transaction. A sign is placed at the register indicating to the customer that a 4% service charge is added to all card sales. By paying with cash the customer doesn’t incur the 4% service charge against their goods. If a customer decides to pay by card, they are responsible for the 4% service change on top of the goods purchased. Since the customer is paying the service charge the business owner doesn’t have to worry about Credit Card Fees eating into their bottom line.
